I'm Cabby Luxford, a ceramic artist fascinated by the stories that materials carry. Inspired by the River Thames where, as a licensed mudlarker I spend countless hours exploring the foreshore in search of forgotten fragments shaped by water, weather and time.
I enjoy the balance between craftmanship and unpredictability. Smoke firing ensures that every pieces develops its own unique surface, it takes its own journey, resulting in one of a kind pieces.
I make ceramics to be used, collected and lived with - objects that celebrate material, process and the marks left by time.
I live in Kent, UK with my husband, daughter, two dogs and three chickens.
